Many internet videos come in codecs built for streaming, not for editing, and they stutter when you scrub. You can ask for automatic conversion to an editing codec on download, and the clip lands ready to work with on the timeline.
Traceability
Source and date kept in the metadata
Every downloaded clip keeps its source URL and date in its metadata inside the project. When someone asks months later where that shot came from, the answer is in the file itself.

Can I download only a fragment?
Yes. You set an in and out point and only that range is downloaded.
Does it download with a watermark?
It downloads the file as the source serves it. Mimu adds nothing.
What about rights to the footage?
Usage is your responsibility. The tool does not handle licensing of third party content.
