Ctrl+V and the image is already edited in.

In the video: a screenshot taken in the browser lands on the timeline without saving the file, without opening the importer and without dragging anything from the desktop.

Destination
Project bin + first free track
Shortcut
Ctrl/Cmd + V with the panel active
How it works

Three keys. Zero file management.

1
Copy from anywhere
Figma, Photoshop, the browser or a screen capture. Any image on the clipboard works.
2
Paste in Premiere
Ctrl+V with the panel open. Mimu intercepts the paste and writes the file into the project folder.
3
It is already on the track
Imported to the bin, with a readable name and placed at the playhead on the first free track.
Capabilities

Built for people who paste a hundred times a day.

Thumbnails, mockups, logos, references. Instant Paste turns the dumbest step of editing into a shortcut.

Alpha channel preserved
Transparent PNGs come in as PNGs, not as a JPG flattened onto black.
Automatic naming
No more image_001. Every file gets a name with sequence, timecode and origin.
Smart track
It finds the first free video track so it never covers what you already edited.

Under the hood

What it does inside.

Writing to disk
The file really exists, it is not a temporary link
Premiere needs a file on disk to link a clip. Instant Paste writes the PNG inside the project folder, in its own subfolder, so the project stays portable and no media goes offline when you open it on another machine.
Placement
Free track detection at the playhead
Before inserting, it checks which video tracks have content at the current position and moves up to the first gap. If they are all busy, it creates a new track instead of overwriting an existing clip.
Frequently asked

What people usually ask about Instant Paste.

Missing something? Support replies within one working day.

Does it work with system screenshots?
Yes. Any image on the operating system clipboard is detected the same way, wherever it came from.
Where are pasted files stored?
In a subfolder inside your Premiere project folder, so the project stays portable if you move it to another drive.
Can I paste several images in a row?
Yes. Each paste creates a new file with a unique name and lands at the current playhead position.
Does it affect Premiere performance?
No. Writing takes milliseconds and nothing runs in the background when you are not pasting.
